Mat Movements + Week 7 Review
Setup: Staggered lines, arm's-width apart, one direction. Pairs form for the review half.
How it works: Lengths, twice each: shrimps, bridges, technical stand-up, seated back-scoots. Then the new one that IS tonight — hip lifts: on your back, swing both legs up and lift the hips high like a shoulder-stand, scissor the legs once at the top, come down with control. Ten each, twice. Review week 7 in pairs, one minute each way: seatbelt and hooks built from seated, partner rolls slowly, back player follows.
What to say
- “Hip lifts: the hips go to the ceiling, not the feet over the head.”
- “Scissor at the top slow — that shape is the armbar, ninety minutes early.”
- “Review the seatbelt layers out loud: chest, belt, hooks, head.”
Easier
Half-lengths; hip lifts with knees bent and no scissor.
Harder
Hip lifts holding two seconds at the top; review at quarter resistance.
