Everyone boxes the wrong-way-round tonight — the orthodox learn to face southpaws, the southpaws finally get a room built for them.

Kit: Gloves and wraps for all, one pair of focus pads per pair, spot markers, timer or bell.
Switch and Suffer
Setup: Wraps on, markers out. Announce the deal: every orthodox boxer spends tonight in southpaw, and the southpaws stay home for once. The room will groan; that groan is the lesson starting.
How it works: Rebuild the stance in the mirror-image on your count — other foot forward, other hand leading — and watch the room turn back into beginners in ten seconds. One compass round of step-drags in the new stance, slower than pride would like. Then one shadow round of jabs only, switched. Southpaws warm up in their own stance and get a job: one southpaw per cluster, floating as tonight's assistant coaches.
Rounds: 2 × 2 min, 30s rest
What to say
- “Same rules, other side — nearest foot first, feet never cross, and yes it feels like writing with the wrong hand.”
- “Chin down still counts in the mirror world — new stance, old habits.”
- “Southpaws, enjoy this — then go help; you have been switched your whole boxing life.”
Easier
Compass round at walking pace, jab round stationary.
Harder
Add 1-2s in the switched stance before the round ends.
