Head-hunting is a habit, not a strategy — tonight the punches go downstairs, where fights are quietly won.

Kit: Gloves and wraps for all, one pair of focus pads per pair (a body belt or body shield is a bonus, not a requirement), heavy bags if you have them, timer or bell. All body work lands on pads, shields or bags — never on an unprotected partner.

Warm-up10 min

Trunk First

Setup: Wraps on, loose swarm. Body punching is trunk rotation under a level change, so the warm-up is hips, obliques and knees before it is anything else.

How it works: Mobility ladder on the move: hip circles, slow trunk rotations with arms folded, side bends, then ten slow squats sinking into the exact depth tonight's punches live at. Then two shadow rounds: round one normal boxing at half speed; round two every second combination dips — bend the knees, throw the same 1-2 at rib height, rise home. Thirty seconds between. The dip should already look like a punch by the end of the warm-up.

Rounds: 2 × 2 min shadow, 30s rest, mobility before

What to say

  • Bend the knees to change floors — the head stays stacked over the hips, never tipped over the toes.
  • Same guard downstairs — dipping with dropping hands is a bad trade.
  • Feel the obliques switch on in round two — they are tonight's engine room.

Easier

Squats to comfortable depth only; round two dips on your call, not every second combination.

Harder

Round two: every combination goes downstairs, and the last twenty seconds hold the low level throughout.
